The IEEE Student Branch and AiTI at SRM University-AP are jointly organising IEEE RECON 2026, a flagship one-and-a-half-day overnight cybersecurity event scheduled for November 13–14, 2026.
Overview
IEEE RECON 2026 bridges the gap between cybersecurity awareness and practical application through immersive learning, interactive challenges, and competitive technical tracks. The event caters to both beginners and experienced enthusiasts, offering hands-on exposure to ethical hacking, digital forensics, incident response, cryptography, reverse engineering, OSINT, and AI security.
Major Tracks & Challenges
- Cyber Arena (Flagship Overnight CTF): An overnight Capture the Flag competition covering Web Security, Cryptography, Digital Forensics, Reverse Engineering, OSINT, Binary Analysis, and Miscellaneous categories.
- Cyber Detective Challenge: A simulated cyber-incident investigation where participants analyze system logs, emails, browser histories, and network activity to identify attack vectors.
- Phishing Showdown: Interactive analysis to identify phishing attempts across emails, websites, QR codes, and login portals.
- AI Security Challenge: Focused on security concerns in AI and language models, including AI-generated phishing and prompt injection attacks.
- OSINT: Information gathering, analysis, verification, and correlation using publicly available data.
