The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Decoding the Black Box: Explainable AI in Healthcare and Medical Diagnostics” aims to provide participants with an understanding of emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and their applications in healthcare and medical diagnostics. The programme will explore the principles and techniques of Explainable AI (XAI) to develop transparent, interpretable, reliable, and trustworthy AI-driven healthcare systems. Key areas will include deep learning architectures, interpretability methods, model-agnostic tools such as LIME and SHAP, brain–computer interfaces, disease prognosis, privacy-preserving AI, Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), medical natural language processing, fairness and bias mitigation, regulatory standards, and ethical AI in medical image analysis.

Faculty members and research scholars interested in the above areas are encouraged to participate in the FDP.
