The School of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP is organising a five-day virtual Faculty Development Programme titled “Quantum Computing & Modern Cryptography: Principles, Algorithms, and Paradigms” from 2 to 6 November 2026. Delivered through online sessions, the initiative is designed for faculty members, research scholars, industry professionals, and postgraduate students.

The FDP will focus on the impact of quantum computing on conventional cryptographic systems, including the security challenges posed by quantum algorithms such as Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms. It will also introduce quantum key distribution (QKD), lattice-based cryptography, and emerging quantum-safe security approaches. Through expert-led sessions and hands-on exposure to quantum programming tools such as Qiskit, participants will gain insights into current developments, practical applications, and emerging research opportunities at the intersection of quantum computing, cryptography, and cybersecurity.

The programme examines foundational concepts in quantum computation alongside contemporary cryptographic frameworks. Scheduled across two daily blocks, the technical lectures focus on quantum algorithms, cryptographic protocols, and emerging paradigms in secure data transmission to strengthen academic research and specialized teaching capabilities.

The programme is designed for faculty members, researchers, research scholars, postgraduate students, and professionals interested in strengthening their knowledge of quantum technologies and next-generation information security.
