The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP will host a webinar titled “Ph.D. Admissions 2026: Everything You Need to Know,” designed to walk prospective scholars through the admission process, eligibility, fellowships, and research opportunities available at the university. The session will be held online via Zoom on July 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
The webinar will feature two sessions from CSE faculty. Dr V M Manikandan, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, will open with “Why Pursue a Ph.D.? Building a Successful Research Career,” addressing the motivations and mindset behind a research career. Dr Shaiju Panchikkil, Assistant Professor in the department, will then walk participants through the “Ph.D. Admission Process at SRM University-AP,” covering the university’s specific eligibility criteria and application pathway. Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact directly with the faculty and raise questions relevant to their own research interests.
There is no registration fee, though registration is mandatory in advance. Participants who attend at least 80% of the session and submit the feedback form will receive an e-certificate of participation.
The webinar is coordinated by Dr Aditya Kumar Sahu and Dr Shaiju Panchikkil, both Assistant Professors in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
As SRM AP continues to expand its doctoral research ecosystem, sessions like this aim to make the path into research more transparent for prospective scholars — connecting them directly with the faculty guiding that work, well before they submit an application.
