The Department of Psychology is launching an online expert lecture series titled Discover Psychology, designed specifically to support undergraduate students in gaining deeper clarity about the diverse specialisations within Psychology. This initiative aims to provide meaningful exposure to various career pathways, higher education opportunities in India and abroad, emerging areas of research, and the mentorship in shaping academic and professional journeys.
The series will begin with an inaugural session scheduled on February 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, to be conducted online. The theme of the first lecture is Discover Psychology: Perspectives in Health Psychology. This session will introduce participants to the expanding domain of Health Psychology, highlighting its scope, interdisciplinary relevance, research advancements, and professional opportunities in clinical, academic, and applied settings.
Prof. Manika Ghosh will be the speaker for this session. She is the President of the Association of Health Psychologists, Founder President of the Bangalore Psychology Forum, and Founder Director of the Eudaimonic Centre for Positive Change & Wellbeing. With her extensive academic experience and leadership in the field, Prof. Ghosh will offer valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Health Psychology and guide students on potential academic and career trajectories within this specialisation.
