The Department of Literature and Languages at SRM University-AP is organising a Guest Talk on Interdisciplinarity in Memory Studies Research. The primary objective of the guest talk is to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the significance and multidisciplinary approaches in memory studies research.

The talk will be led by Associate Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras and the Founding Chairperson of the Indian Network for Memory Studies (INMS), Dr Avishek Parui.

About the Speaker:

Avishek Parui is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he has been contributing to the academic community for over eight years. His current role, which he has held since November 2022, follows a successful tenure as an Assistant Professor in English from November 2017 to November 2022. Prior to his position at IIT Madras, he served as an Assistant Professor in Humanities and Social Science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, from July 2014 to November 2017. Avishek began his academic career as a Tutor in English at Durham University, where he worked from September 2011 to June 2014. With a robust background in English and humanities, Dr Parui is dedicated to advancing educational practices and fostering a rich learning environment for his students. He is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
