The Department of Biological Sciences is organising a two-day Indo-German Scientific Meeting (2026) bringing together antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research experts from the Freie Universität Berlin, and faculty members of the department.

Day one will have a panel discussion that focuses to create awareness on the dimensions and precautionary steps needed to be taken to contain any microorganisms. Day two shifts the focus on strengthening Indo-German research collaboration, promoting academic exchange, and identifying opportunities for joint projects and international funding. By aligning complementary expertise and shared priorities, the meeting aims to establish sustainable partnerships that advance AMR research and translate science into public health impact.

Prof. Thomas Alter, Dean of Studies, School of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universitaet Berlin, Prof. Uwe Roesler, Dean, School of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universitaet Berlin, Prof. Robert Klopfleisch from the Institute of Veterinary Pathology, Dr Anika Friese from the Centre of Infectious Medicine, Prof. Jayaseelan Murugaiyan, Associate Dean together with the faculty members of the School of Engineering and Sciences (SEAS), SRM AP will attend this event.
