The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP is organising a co-teaching session on Data Classification by Dr Tripti Swarnkar, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Applications, National Institute of Technology, Raipur.

The Expert Talk and co-teaching session on Computational Essentials for Data Science (DSC 501) will offer insights into foundational programming languages and will help students acquire essential skills to analyse data effectively, build data-driven models, and prepare for real-world data science challenges.

About the Speaker:
Dr Tripti Swarnkar is a distinguished Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Applications at the National Institute of Technology NITRR in Raipur, India. With a robust academic background spanning over two decades, Dr Swarnkar has served in various capacities, including as a Professor and Head of the Center of Biomedical Engineering Research & Application at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University.

Her research focuses on the intersection of machine learning, deep learning, and computational biology, specifically in the analysis of biological omic data and gene selection. As a recognised expert in bioinformatics, Dr Swarnkar blends knowledge from statistics, computer science, and biology to drive innovations in the field. Her Areas of Interest include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Medical Omics Data and Image Data Analysis.
