SUMMARY:Upping our A-game with NITTTR Chennai and SRM faculties
DESCRIPTION:The Faculty and Academic Affairs unit is hosting a Faculty Development Program (FDP)\, an initiative of the SRM University-AP Teaching Learning Centre (TLC)\, which was inaugurated on October 25\, 2021\, at 2:45 pm by Prof. V S Rao\, our esteemed Vice-Chancellor who graced the event as the Chief Guest and the revered Prof. Usha Natesan\, Director\, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai as the Guest of Honour in the occasion. \nThis FDP will be an opportunity to nurture the finest traits that our faculty members have to offer by inviting five faculty members from NITTTR Chennai. Dr G. Janardhanan (Course coordinator)\, Dr P. Malliga\, Dr S. Renukadevi\, Dr V. Shanmuganeethi\, and Dr E. S. M. Suresh from NITTTR Chennai; Dr Balgauruprasad Narayanan (Course Coordinator)\, and Dr Anupama Ghattu from Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) SRM University-AP\, and Dr Rajeev Sukumaran from the Centre for Applied Research (CARE)\, SRMIST will be the resource persons for this event. \nNITTTR Chennai is a Ministry of Education\, Government of India-funded institution. The SWAYAM-MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) courses offered by NITTTR have become very popular among the teachers’ community as easy-to-access resources. \nThe entire FDP will be conducted in four batches and over 170 faculty members of SRM University will participate in it to learn about the latest developments in pedagogical methods and their incorporation in the classroom setting. The events for the first batch will continue from October 25\, 2021\, till November 6\, 2021\, from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm every day coming up to a total of 10 sessions. \nThis Faculty Development Program jointly designed by NITTTR Chennai and SRM University-AP will give our educators the essential tools needed to make every classroom experience an unrivalled growing opportunity for the students. We urge our faculty members to make the most of this event from October 25\, 2021\, onwards.

DESCRIPTION:Many young people find it strenuous to deal with unexpected events in their lives. It is vital to be kind to your mental health. Coping skills help an individual to face and overcome stressful circumstances. To educate students on Coping Skills\, the Department of Students’ Affairs is initiating a virtual talk on July 03\, 2021\, at 3.00 pm with Ms Aayushi Sharma\, the Student Counsellor of our university. \nYoung people\, when they face difficulties in their careers\, can become easily stressed. In simple terms\, coping skills are the ability one needs to handle any situation in life with intelligence and resilience. The coping mechanisms and the capacity to deal with problems vary among individuals. Everyone experiences ups and downs in life\, no matter what they are. Some face situations with courage\, and others succumb to dangerous steps. Thus\, coping skills are essential to deal with this tough\, competitive world. \nSRM University-AP takes care of the complete development of students which includes their emotional well-being. SUMMARY:career paths in the Automotive Industry
DESCRIPTION:The Department of ECE and Corporate Relations & Career Services are partnering to organise the 4th edition of the talk series-ECE in Industry on July 03\, 2021\, at 5 pm (Saturday). Mr. Sankar Sundaralingam\, Head of HR for the Manufacturing Plant\, BMW\, India\, will speak about “Career Opportunities in Automotive Electronics” and enlighten the students with requirements to pursue their career in automotive industry. \nThe session aims to cover an overview of the automotive industry\, future trends\, and areas of interest for electronic engineering students. \nMr. Sundaralingham has over 16+ years of experience in Human Resources in the automobile\, manufacturing\, Engineering & IT domains. He began his career in September 2004 as an officer of HR at TCL India\, a Hong Kong-based MNC\, and later took over TCL India’s overall HR operation. Mr. Sundaralingham has handled multiple unions\, international workers\, and green field projects. \nIn June 2012\, he moved to TATA Johnson Controls (Group of TATA Auto Components) as the Sr. Manager of HR for the Chennai Facility. From 2015 – 2020\, he was associated with BSH (Bosch & Siemens Home Appliances) as General Manager Human Resource Business Partner\, Handling Talent Management\, Employee Relations\, Talent Acquisition\, Learning & Development for regional technology India. \nMr. Sundaralingham has a bachelor’s in law\, a Master’s in Labour Management from the University of Madras and a PGCHRM from XLRI\, Jamshedpur. \nThe World HRD Congress presented Mr. Sundaralingham with the Super Achiever-HR award. He is an avid storyteller and a writer. \nMr. Sundaralingham is a member of the HR Forums. The duo bagged jobs at Japan’s PVP Inc.\, a strategic partner of Google Japan\, with a whopping 50 LPA salary packages each\, making the achievement the highest salary package amongst the 96 per cent of students who secured placements in the campus recruitment drive. The Department of Students’ Affairs has invited Saptarshi and Rajarshi to the upcoming segment of “The Newsmakers” on July 03\, 2021\, at 5:30 pm.\, where they will share their journey from SRM University-AP to a top-tier global organisation. \nJapan’s PVP Inc. is a strategic partner of Google\, which is one of the world’s largest search engine providers. It offers products and services that enable the creation of new businesses. It is the first time that students from a private university in India have received a 50-lakh rupee salary package. DESCRIPTION:The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) organises a panel session on “Research Opportunities in ECE” to discuss the prospective research areas that a graduate from SRM University-AP can ingress into. The session will be moderated by Dr Anuj Deshpande\, Assistant Professor from the department on July 3\, 2021\, at 6.00 pm. \nThe panel members and speakers for this programme will be Prof Priya Ranjan\, Dr Ramesh Vaddi\, Dr Divya Chaturvedi\, and Dr Anirban Ghosh. \nSRM University-AP offers research guidance and assistance in the fields of AI-enabled Clinical MultiMedia Processing\, Battery Research\, Future Communication Systems\, Hardware Security\, RF and Applied Photonics\, Systems Biology\, and Wearable Electronic Systems.
