DESCRIPTION:The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) at SRM University-AP is conducting a webinar on the topic “Insights into embedded systems @ ECE Department SRM AP” on August 07\, 2021\, at 6.00 pm. Dr M Ramakrishnan\, Assistant Professor in the Department of ECE will deliver a captivating lecture and enlighten the virtual gathering on the topic. \nThe talk aims to introduce embedded systems and focuses on the various avenues of job opportunities available in the industry of embedded systems. Product-based companies and engineering services companies that recruit Embedded Engineers will also be discussed. The event will give an overview of skillsets required for the three main streams of embedded systems- firmware development\, hardware development\, and embedded testing. \nAbout the Speaker:\nDr M Ramakrishnan completed his Master’s from the College of Engineering\, Guindy (2005); and his PhD from Anna University (2010). After his studies\, he worked in the Embedded Industry for almost a decade and specialised in firmware development with Embedded C and Real-Time Operating Systems. He has three years of teaching experience. Dr Indranil Hatai\, Assistant Professor from the department will elucidate on the topic via the Zoom platform. \nVery-large-scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating an integrated circuit (IC) by combining thousands of transistors into a single chip. Before the introduction of VLSI technology\, most ICs had a limited set of functions they could perform. An electronic circuit might consist of a CPU\, ROM\, RAM and other glue logic. VLSI lets IC designers add all of these into one chip. With the advent of very large scale integration (VLSI) designs\, the number of applications of integrated circuits (ICs) in high-performance computing\, controls\, telecommunications\, image and video processing\, and consumer electronics has been rising at a very fast pace. The current cutting-edge technologies such as high resolution and low bit-rate video and cellular communications provide the end-users with a marvellous amount of applications\, processing power and portability.
