SUMMARY:Webinar on AI/ML for Remote Sensing Application
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) will conduct a webinar titled “AI/ML for Remote Sensing Application.” Dr Deepak Mishra\, a Professor in the Department of Avionics\, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST)\, Trivandrum\, will be the speaker. \nThe lecture will highlight the fundamentals of remote sensing\, including an overview of various remote sensing imaging satellites and their key features. The webinar will also explore how Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are integrated with remote sensing to address applications that require extensive spectral and spatial data for effective pattern recognition. \nIn addition\, the recent research work of Dr Deepak Mishra\, which focused on road extraction from satellite imagery using deep learning models\, will also be discussed in detail. The current challenges and future research opportunities in the field of remote sensing will be discussed. These insights aim to guide aspiring researchers in leveraging satellite and aerial imagery to overcome existing limitations and advance the capabilities of remote sensing applications.
