SUMMARY:Towards the construction of a skilled youth
DESCRIPTION:“We cannot always build the future for our youth\, but we can build our youth for the future” \n– Franklin D Roosevelt \n \nIndia is one of the countries in the world currently experiencing an explosion in the youth population. And undoubtedly\, skilled youth is the supreme asset of any land. However\, the dismaying fact is that the surpassing potential of our youth is yet to be explored to its fullest. Higher institutes of learning and universities play a pivotal role in equipping their students to face the ever-evolving world fraught with unseen challenges. Reckoning with this alarming fact\, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP is organising a one-month-long programme on “Youth Empowerment and Skill Development” under the ISR activities of the university from Aug 29\, 2022\, to Sept 28\, 2022. \nThe programme is exclusively organised for young people living in rural communities near SRM University-AP with an aim to develop the knowledge and experiences that will help them live happier\, more fulfilling lives and improve their ability to make better decisions about their future. Courses are offered across various domains such as internet technologies\, web development\, MS office\, and the like that have become essential tools in a technology-driven world. \nThe inaugural session is scheduled on August 29\, 2022\, at 05.15 pm. The event will be graced by the honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof VS Rao\, Dean – SEAS Prof BV Babu\, Associate Dean – SEAS & the Head of the Department of CSE – Prof T Ragunathan\, and other university dignitaries. Classes will be conducted between 5.30 pm and 7.00 pm during the month. \nJoin us and empower yourself for a better tomorrow.

SUMMARY:From scratch to the published manuscript
DESCRIPTION:An ideal research process relies on some essential characteristics. One among them is to communicate the research findings. Peer reviewed research journals serve a huge role in this. However\, researchers lack an understanding of how to write a publishable research paper. Grasping the basic structure of a scientific paper would help the researcher to decide what should be included in each section. There will be pitfalls in each of these sections but can be avoided if approached strategically. Along with the other components\, target journal selection and authorship is also an important aspect of this entire activity. \nSuccessful production of an article for submission to a peer‐reviewed scientific journal requires substantial effort. To ensure this success\, The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is planning for a one-day online workshop on How to write and publish a research article. \nDate: August 06\, 2022 \nTime: 09.30 am to 1.00 pm \nThe workshop expects more than four hundred participants. It is open to both students and faculty from UG\, PG and PhD programmes. Assistant Professors Dr V Manikandan and Dr Murali Krishna Enduri are coordinating the event. The workshop will give a general idea about topics such as\, different options to publish research works\, benefits of publishing research articles\, steps to write a review paper or research article from scratch\, hands-on training with LaTeX to write a research article etc.

SUMMARY:Quantum computing and communications: New paradigm
DESCRIPTION:Quantum computing is one of the most significant scientific breakthroughs of the century. The Computer Science and Engineering Department at SRM university-AP is organising an online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the topic “Quantum Computing and Communications: New Paradigm” from December 27 to 31\, 2021 for scholars from various reputed universities and institutions. The programme organised jointly with CDAC\, Bengaluru\, will be inaugurated on December 27\, 2021\, at 9.30 am. \nQuantum computing is a new disruptive paradigm based on the principles of quantum mechanics to solve problems in various fields of science that are beyond the possibilities of classical computing infrastructures. Despite\, a lot of theoretical research and hardware implementations\, the application of quantum computing in solving a computational problem is yet to be explored. In future\, a new generation of quantum technologies will drive the development of disruptive devices\, services and systems which will primarily impact imaging and computing of intractable problems\, as well as enhance network security. \nThe FDP aims to provide a comprehensive idea of quantum computing\, its applications and research opportunities. Eminent speakers will provide insightful discussions on quantum computing\, quantum information\, quantum engineering\, artificial intelligence\, and machine learning. Faculty members\, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students from various reputed institutions are the target audience for the FDP. \n  \n\n\n\nDate\nSession 1 (9.30 AM – 11.00) AM)\nSession 2 (11.30 AM – 1.00 PM)\n\n\n27/12/2021\nDr Sridharan R\nTopic: Quantum Computing and Research Scope\nSandeep Deb\nTopic: Quantum Secure Cryptography\n\n\n28/12/2021\nDr Natarajan Venkatachalam\nTopic: Quantum Network\nDr Asvija\nTopic: Quantum Network\n\n\n29/12/2021\nProf Vimal Bhatia\nTopic: Quantum Secured Future Optical Networks\nProf Konstantin E Dorfman\nTopic: Multi-Dimensional Optical Sensing with Quantum Light\n\n\n30/12/2021\nProf Monica Aggarwal\nTopic: Quantum Machine Learning\nDr Debanjan Konar\nTopic: Hands-on – IBM Quantum Computer\n\n\n31/12/2021\nSudeep S\nTopic: Hands-on – IBM Quantum Computer\nDr Indranil Chakrabarty\nTopic: Quantum Information Theory\n\n\n\nBrochure \nAvail yourself the opportunity to interact with the brightest minds in academia from 27 to 31 December 2021.

SUMMARY:Done with B.Tech? Explore the endless opportunities through M.Tech
DESCRIPTION:SRM University-AP moulds career-ready engineers equipped with latest specialisations. To introduce CSE (AI &ML)\, ECE (IoT)\, ME (Materials and Manufacturing courses to M.Tech aspirants\, a webinar on the theme “Done with B.Tech? Explore the endless opportunities through M.Tech” will be held on July 22\, 2021 ar 4.00 pm. Prof Radha Guha\, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE); Dr Ramesh Vaddi\, Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE); and Dr Prakash Jadhav\, Associate Professor and Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering(ME) will engage the session with their expertise in their respective fields. \nSRM University-AP offers M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The Internet of Things (IoT) specialisation offered by the ECE department represents the recent advancements in Electronic systems\, Networking and Communication technologies\, Bigdata and Machine Learning to make the life of humans better and easier with time. Materials and Manufacturing specialisation offered by the Mechanical Engineering department provide an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as forming\, joining\, casting machining\, additive manufacturing\, smart manufacturing\, AI for manufacturing etc. \nThe curricula of M.Tech programmes at SRM University-AP are designed keeping in view the career scope and job opportunities. The students after completing the M.Tech Programme can choose industries to work or choose high-quality technical institutes of international repute to pursue a PhD. To know more about the M.Tech programmes and their specialisations at SRM University-AP\, join this engaging webinar on July 22\, 2021\, at 4.00 pm.
