SUMMARY:HACK MSC 2.0 National Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:Hack MSC 2.0 is a 30-hour national level hackathon by the Microsoft Student Community\, SRM University-AP\, themed “Solutions for Smart India.” Open to all students from any branch or year\, it focuses on solving real-world challenges in healthcare\, energy\, education\, and infrastructure for the Nation. The event includes pre-hackathon workshops\, 24 hours of coding\, and 5 hours for pitching. \nHistory\n<HACK>x<MSC> was the predecessor event of the Hackathon that proved to be one of the finest in the University with problem statements emphasizing on Campus Problems. This time we took the nation into consideration to resolve our India to drive towards smartness with 2.0. \nTheme – Solution Towards Smart India\nProblem statement is Open adhering to the Theme of the Hackathon and Teams can work on Security\, IT\, Cyber\, AI\, Green Energy\, anything that endorses and paves way towards Smart India. \nActivities  \nDay 1\n1. Hackathon Participants reach SRM University Andhra Pradesh for participation in Offline Round by paying registration fee. \n2. FUN ACTIVITY Fun Activities like Movie Night / Tech Hunt will be organized on the eve of Day 1 for relaxation of Participants \nDay 2\n1. Phase 1 & 2 evaluation on Day 2\, Before Lunch Phase 1 Evaluation will be conducted for selected Teams. Post Lunch Phase 2 will commence for all Teams \n2.RECRUITING & Closing All participants will be given an Internship Recruitment Drive. With a robust academic background spanning over two decades\, Dr Swarnkar has served in various capacities\, including as a Professor and Head of the Center of Biomedical Engineering Research & Application at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University. \nHer research focuses on the intersection of machine learning\, deep learning\, and computational biology\, specifically in the analysis of biological omic data and gene selection. DESCRIPTION:Google Developer Groups (GDG) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is organising “Code4Her”\, a mini hackathon in commemoration of the International Womens’ Day. \nCode4Her 2026 is a mini hackathon encouraging students to design innovative technology solutions addressing real-world challenges faced by woman. The hackathon will be conducted in three technical tracks – AI/ML for women empowerment\, Cybersecurity and privacy for women and Intelligent Safety and assistive technology. Participants will develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that demonstrates the core idea\, functionality and potential impact of their proposed solution. \nThe first prize is Rs 3000\, second prize is Rs 2500 and third prize is Rs 1500 with certificate and Google products.

In addition\, the session will address important ethical considerations and promote the responsible use of AI technologies. Overall\, the session is designed to equip participants with practical insights to effectively leverage AI for improving the quality and efficiency of education and research. \nResource Person: \nProf. B Surendiran\, Professor\, Department of Computer Science and Engineering\, NIT Puducherry \nBrief Bio of the Speaker: \nProf. B Surendiran is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Puducherry\, Karaikal. He obtained his Ph.D. from NIT Tiruchirappalli\, India. His research interests include machine learning\, medical imaging\, and dimensionality reduction. He has supervised ten research scholars and guided several undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has served the institute in various administrative roles such as Warden\, Head of the Department (CSE)\, Associate Dean (PG and Research)\, and Dean (Faculty Welfare). He has more than 120 publications to his credit and actively reviews for several SCI and Scopus-indexed journals\, having completed over 1200 reviews to date.
