SUMMARY:Faculty development programme on research data analysis
DESCRIPTION:As a formidable pioneer of translational research and innovation\, SRM University-AP attributes utmost importance to innovations in Research methodology. The advent of programming technologies in the domain of research and its application\, is a recent advancement facilitating a statistically organised\, data-driven research. As a part of this transformative approach in research methodology\, the School of Entrepreneurship and Management Studies is conducting a five-day online faculty development programme on Research Data Analysis using R programming & JAMOVI from December 10 – 14\, 2022. \nThe principal objective of the FDP is to enlighten scholars on the various methods in research methodology\, distinction between data driven research and theory driven research\, and the concept and statistical application of R programming in the field of research. It is a great opportunity for Academicians\, Research scholars\, Industry participants and Masters’ students to gain insight and upskill their research assets. \nThe FDP will consist of informative sessions on research concepts including Research Objectives & Topic Identification; Systematic Literature & Gap identification; Data driven research uses and implications and many more. A detailed session on research methodology including topics such as Data exploration & preparation using R & JAMOVI; Univariate data analysis using R & JAMOVI; Hypothesis testing using R & JAMOVI; and Multivariate analysis using R & JAMOVI: Correlation\, Regression will also be explored. \nDistinguished Academicians and Professors are expected to deliver talks as part of the faculty development programme. The list of the tentative resource persons for the event are mentioned below:- \n\nDr Bharadhwaj Sivakumaran\, Professor\, Dean\, SRM-AP\nDr Murugan Pattusamy\, Assistant Professor\, University of Hyderabad\nDr Rajesh Itamalla\, Assistant Professor\, IIT-Hydrebad\nDr Namita Ruparel\, Assistant Professor\, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences\nDr Lalita Mohan Mohapatra\, Assistant professor\, SRM-AP\nDr Pradeep Rathore\, Assistant Professor\, SRM-AP\nDr Vinay Ch\, Assistant professor\, SRM-AP\n\nJoin the programme to familiarise with data-driven research methodology that better facilitate an innovative approach to the research process. SUMMARY:Dr Lorenzo Contessi on many-body systems
DESCRIPTION:International research exposure is a prerequisite to developing an analytical bent of mind and knowledge acquisition. Global exposure help acquaint scholars with the nuances in the recent research domains and methodology. The Department of Physics is organising a Department Research Seminar to promote research discourse with eminent scientists and scholars from all around the world. The seminar will be addressed by Dr Lorenzo Contessi\, Postdoctoral Researcher\, IJCLabs\, on December 14\, 2022. In this seminar titled “Many-body systems around universality”\, Dr Contessi will discuss various universal systems\, especially in the unitarity universality class. \nAbstract \nUniversal systems are quantum mechanical objects that can be described similarly despite having different typical sizes\, energies\, and degrees of freedom. This is possible because they share identical few-body properties. Unitarity is arguably the most common universality class for low-energy physics and can be found in hadronic\, nuclear\, and atomic fields. This interconnection between fields is important because it allows for the passage of knowledge from one field to another. This is of special benefit to the fields in which very little is experimentally known since emergent phenomena can be predicted from more widely known sectors of physics. What is the “best” theory to describe the emergent phenomena maintaining interdisciplinarity is not a simple question to be answered. However\, effective field theories result is the most natural framework for this search for their systematic improvability and the connection to the underlying physics of the various universal systems. \nJoin the webinar to learn how to build an effective quantum mechanical theory\, how to pass knowledge from one field to others\, and what phenomena emerge in many-body systems.
