SUMMARY:Prof. Prabal Maiti on Complex Molecular Systems
DESCRIPTION:Knowledge acquisition and creation are key to consistent education\, and quality learning is achieved with a constant drive to explore various domains guided by expert mentors. Following this principle\, the Department of Physics is organising an insightful session as part of their Eminent Guest Lecture Series: An Odyssey of Physics on May 10\, 2023. The guest lecture will be delivered by renowned academic and scholar Prof. Prabal K Maiti\, Professor and Head\, Centre for Condensed Matter Theory\, Department of Physics\, Indian Institute of Science\, Bangalore\, on the topic “Multiscale modelling of complex systems”. \nAbstract \nComputer simulations are important scientific tools to understand the emergence of collective properties from chemical structures in complex molecular systems. It has helped us improve our basic understanding and provide calculation tools for the pre-synthesis design and screening of novel materials for various technologies. In this talk\, the speaker will summarise the efforts in understanding the structure and dynamics of confined fluid\, self-assembly and mechanics of various DNA molecules and charge transport in molecular systems. \nJoin the lecture for a resourceful and valuable session!
