DESCRIPTION:The Department of Physics is organising a colloquium on the topic “The Charm and Beauty of Flavour” on August 13\, 2025. Distinguished academician\, Prof. Uma Sankar\, Department of Physics\, IIT Bombay\, Mumbai will deliver the comprehensive session. \nAbstract \nThe nature is filled with a bewildering variety of objects and materials. Over the centuries\, the chemists have built a simplified picture\, in which all the objects are made up of about 90 elements. During the past century\, the physicists tried to simplify this picture even further. But\, in this process\, they have encountered newer and stranger particles\, which were never even thought of before.
