DESCRIPTION:The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is organising a 5-day Skill Enhancement Programme on “Renewable Energy and Smart Transportation” from July 22 – 26\, 2024. The Skill Enhancement Programme will be conducted in offline mode with live lectures\, hands-on and interactive sessions. The proposed program aims to address the growing importance of electric vehicles and renewable energy systems in the automotive industry and the need for faculty members to acquire knowledge and skills in this rapidly evolving field. The technical sessions will include presentations from experts in academia and industry on the latest advancements in the themes mentioned. The panel discussions will provide an opportunity for the participants to interact with the experts and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the emerging fields. SUMMARY:Electrical Engineering Workshop for Students of Government High School Guntur
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering\, in collaboration with the Directorate of Admissions\, successfully conducted an engaging and informative Electrical Engineering Workshop on September 20\, 2024\, for 150 students of ZPHS Government High School in Revendrapadu\, Guntur. This initiative aimed to inspire young minds and provide them with a deeper understanding of electrical engineering concepts and applications. \nThe workshop commenced with an introductory session\, during which students were introduced to the fundamentals of electrical engineering. Key topics covered included circuit design\, renewable energy\, and the role of electrical engineers in modern society. Faculty members delivered interactive lectures\, using hands-on demonstrations to illustrate complex concepts in a relatable manner. Students participated enthusiastically\, with many expressing their newfound interest in the field. \nFollowing the workshop\, students were given an exclusive opportunity to visit the university’s state-of-the-art laboratories\, including the High Voltage Lab\, Renewable Energy Lab\, Power Electronics and Drives Lab\, Robotics Lab\, and 3D Printing Lab. This tour allowed students to witness cutting-edge technology and innovative practices in action. \nThis workshop not only provided students with valuable educational experiences but also encouraged them to consider careers in electrical engineering and related fields. Feedback from participants indicated a strong appreciation for the hands-on experience and exposure to practical applications of theoretical concepts.

The Speaker for the talk\, Mr Prabhat Khare from EVP Lithion Power Related will share valuable insights on the session. \nAbout the Speaker \nMr Prabhat Khare is a distinguished expert in the automobile manufacturing sector\, having played a crucial role in establishing and operating manufacturing plants for leading companies such as Tata Motors\, Honda Cars\, and Ashok Leyland. His extensive expertise encompasses green factory initiatives\, environmental performance projects\, and energy management\, making this session highly valuable for all attendees. \nHe holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee (1982)\, where he was a Gold Medallist. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University and is a certified Energy Manager from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and a life member of the National Safety Council of India. Mr Khare is also a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015\, ISO 14001:2015\, and ISO 45001:2018 Management Systems\, and he serves as a Manufacturing Sector Expert with the Automotive Skill Development Council of India.

Mr Sekh Samim\, Deputy-Chief Architect\, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd\, India will deliver the guest session. \nTitle of the Talk: The Delhi Metro Story \nAbout the Speaker: \nMr Sekh Samim brings over 12 years of experience as a Transportation Architect\, specialising in Mass Rapid Transit System projects\, primarily with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. His expertise spans the design and execution of underground and elevated metro stations\, depots\, and auditoriums for projects like Delhi Metro Phase-III & IV\, Kochi Metro\, Jaipur Metro\, and Mumbai Metro. \nHe has played a key role in implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) at Delhi Metro\, ensuring sustainability\, innovation\, and streamlined transit-oriented development.
