SUMMARY:Expert Lecture: Do LLMs Have Personalities? Probing Big Five Traits and Engineering Cognitive Functions
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP is organising an expert lecture titled “Do LLMs Have Personalities? Probing Big Five Traits and Engineering Cognitive Functions” on Friday\, October 09\, 2026. \nOverview \nThe session investigates the psychometric stability and steerability of machine personalities in Large Language Models (LLMs). Evaluating models through the Big Five framework and MBTI-style personas\, the talk explores whether LLMs exhibit static personality traits or fluid conversational artifacts across variable prompts\, input modalities\, and cognitive-function hierarchies. \n  \nResource Person \n\nProf. Joemon M Jose – Professor of Information Retrieval\, School of Computing Science\, University of Glasgow\, UK
