In accordance with the UNSDG goals\, The Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in association with Saurvi\, the woman leadership and entrepreneurship student community under the Home of Leaders\, is organising a workshop on Sustainable Development and calls for student presentations on March 01\, 2023. The workshop will feature Mrs Burisetty Sri Lakshmi Ramya Krishna\, Founder and CEO of Utopia Nutraceuticals India Private Limited\, as the guest speaker. \nAgenda: \nSustainable development is a development plan that meets the needs of the present\, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. \n  \nThe workshop will be followed by student presentations\, where participants can share their thoughts and ideas related to Sustainable Development. A few selected ideas will be followed up in a Pitch and Win contest later this month\, with winners receiving cash prizes\, medals\, guidance from the HatchLab and more. SUMMARY:Patent Maker: instigating promising patents for a technology-driven India
DESCRIPTION:Innovation is crucial to the development and deployment of technologies. Patents stimulate technological innovations by providing an incentive for research and development. They disperse technical information and facilitate technology transfer. Hatchlab Research Centre unveils the concept of Patent Maker to give breath to the projects and patents that deserves a high commercial application. Professor G S Vinod Kumar\, an expert\, mentor\, and multidimensional professional\, will guide the workshop by sharing his valuable wisdom in the domain of innovation and leadership. \nDate: August 18\, 2022 \nTime: 7.00 pm to 7.45 pm \nThe life cycle of technologies runs through invention\, research\, development\, dissemination\, market development\, and commercial diffusion. The various processes happening at each of these stages provide numerous opportunities to employ instruments that promote innovation. \nHowever\, the journey of a perfect project or patent is quite challenging and time-taking. So much hard work goes down in creating one good project or filing one patent. But the irony is that roughly only around 3% of the patents are being commercialised. Their impact is not reaching where they are supposed to\, as they are unable to deliver greater benefit to society at application levels. Promising projects and patents are literally national assets. A little alignment of the priced asset with the industry can turn most of the brilliant work into something of high commercial value\, which could be a boon for the entire economy. \nAbout the Speaker \nProfessor G S Vinod Kumar did his PhD from IIT Kharagpur and post-doctoral research at Helmholtz centre Berlin for materials and energy\, Germany. He has vast research experience in metallurgy and materials engineering about 16 years\, in the field of non-ferrous alloys and precious metals. He currently handles sponsored research projects from industries such as Titan Company Ltd\, (Tanishq)\, WHP-Sons\, Maharashtra\, Jewel Craft Ltd\, and Chennai in gold and Silver alloys for jewellery manufacturing. He also handles consultancy projects from INDSAT corporation\, Chennai in die-cast aluminium alloys. He has 40 research publications\, 13 patents and 2 technology transfers to industry (Titan). Some of his technologies are currently in the market as products. He has recently filed a patent jointly with Titan Company Ltd\, which is the first time in the history of TATA. \nJoin the session to learn the entire process\, challenges\, and scopes of patents.

Finding meaning in life is one of the fundamental human needs. But for most people\, finding a purpose is not apparent. The modern world tends to distract people from their actual goals and let them be pretentious about something which is not. \nOur deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but powerful beyond measure. We are unaware of how to hold and direct our own light that it tends to frighten us more than our darkness. The secret to the meaning of life lies in recognising the true goals and aligning everything in life around that. \nThe Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is conducting a 45-minute workshop on How to fix progressive goals in life to give a glimpse of how powerful a simple act of discovering your purpose of life could be. This will be a demo session and is open to all. As part of the series\, a lecture on the title “How Satya Illa is IMPACTING thousands of LIVES\,” is scheduled to be held on July 27\, 2021\, at 7.00 pm on the Zoom platform. \nGuest/Speaker- Mr Satya Illa:\nThe technological innovator and recipient of the Commonwealth London-Youth Achievement Award for Excellence\, Mr Satya Illa is a social entrepreneur and a change maker. He is also the innovation and leadership instructor for NITI Aayog\, Govt. of India. Mr Satya Illa is the innovative brain behind the shockproof three-phase electrical motor pump that prevents electric shock from motor starters. He had worked with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and had been involved in a project incubated by the Bala Vikasa International Centre\, Hyderabad. He identifies lack of awareness and poor maintenance of electric devices as the causes of fatalities due to electrocution among farmers. \nSpeaker/Facilitator- Dr Aqsa Agha:\nDr Aqsa Agha holds a PhD from JNU in Historical Studies. She has researched extensively on issues of human trafficking at TISS\, Mumbai for the National Research Study on Human Trafficking in India that aimed to analyse the trends\, magnitude\, modus operandi\, response mechanism\, and vulnerability context of human trafficking in India; and research on human rights violations on the India-Bangladesh border in the state of West Bengal with Human Rights Defenders’ Alert-India. Her understanding of Participatory Research was enhanced while working as a Consultant at Partners in Change/Praxis-Institute for Participatory Research\, New Delhi. \nMr Tushar Sahu\, a team member of Socio Impacto will be the host and Boyapati Sai Venkat\, Team Lead Socio Impacto will be the moderator of the session. DESCRIPTION:Technology Business Incubator(TBI) of SRM university-AP\, Andhra Pradesh\, is launching the first startup venture cohort with 35 selected startup ventures on May 15\, 2021. \nA very special guest of honour\, Prof Ramesh Loganathan\, Head of Co-innovation and Outreach at IIIT Hyderabad and Ex-Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC)\, will interact with the teams and share his valuable industry experience and explain the scope of innovation and entrepreneurship as a career in India. \n62 teams which comprise of 192 students applied for the opportunity. After a rigorous screening and evaluation on various parameters like innovation\, scalability and commercialization\, only 35 teams/ventures were selected to be a part of the SRM TBI’s first cohort. \nThe selected ventures will be mentored and supported for a period of minimum 12 months where they will be facilitated with infrastructure support\, mentoring and networking support\, seed fund and innovation fund support\, hardware and software support\, industry connectivity\, learning resources\, market exposure and several others. \nThe event will start with the welcome address of Prof V S Rao\, Vice-Chancellor\, SRM University-AP\, followed by talk sessions of Dr Prakash Yadav\, Head Innovation\, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) and Vice President SRM TBI and Mr Udayan Bakshi\, CEO SRM TBI and Associate Director-Entrepreneurship.

DESCRIPTION:To nurture and cultivate innovation\, there are no best-practice solutions. The structures and processes that many leaders employ instinctively to foster it are vital but insufficient. The Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SRM University-AP is organising an influential session by Jyothsna Yerramsetti\, CEO & Co-Founder- IUThink\, on November 10\, 2021\, at 6.00 pm to promote and integrate innovative leadership among students. All participants will be given various gifts and certificates and participation. \nIUThink is an organisation with a vision to provide a platform for grassroots\, student and rural Innovators. It focuses on connecting students\, innovators\, startups and entrepreneurs to mentors\, investors and creates opportunities to network with successful entrepreneurs. IUThink organises Startup/Innovation Summits where innovators and startups get a chance to exhibit their ideas and also provides entrepreneurial functionality support for college incubations. The main objective of IUThink is to create a proper Start-up Ecosystem to connect all the startups/entrepreneurs. In 2019-2021 it organised 3 innovation summits and connected 5000+ students/innovators/startups/ entrepreneurs and created a huge impact by organising awareness programmes. \nAbout the Speaker: \nJyothsna Yerramsetti\, CEO & Co-Founder- IUThink completed Graduation in Information Technology 2013. She worked as a software engineer for 5 years in one of the big MNCs at Hyderabad and established her startup company “IUThink” in 2018 August along with Cofounder Divya Kalikota. IUThink encourages startups\, entrepreneurs and innovators.
