DESCRIPTION:Creative writing is an art that transcends individuals to places and scenarios. It thrives on the creative faculties of an individual. Recognising the profound impact of creative expression\,  the Arts\, Culture and Literary Society (ACTS) organised a captivating Creative Writing Competition on February 08\, 2023. \nThe objective of the Creative Writing Competition was to provide a platform for students across departments to showcase their writing prowess and imaginative flair. More than just a contest\, the event sought to foster a culture of artistic expression and offer a platform for students to unleash their boundless potential. \nThe response to the competition surpassed all expectations\, as students from diverse departments eagerly embraced the opportunity to showcase their literary talents. Among the multitude of entries\, Andrew Lwanga and K Sairam Koushal stood out for their exceptional creativity and originality. Their works resonated with the essence of storytelling\, weaving intricate narratives that were both familiar and fantastical at the same time. \nThe success of the Creative Writing Competition speaks volumes about the university’s unwavering commitment to nurturing and celebrating the artistic endeavours of its students. As the curtains drew on another chapter of literary excellence\, the echoes of inspiration continued to reverberate throughout the campus.

With each note and every soulful rendition\, they captivated the audience\, leaving them wanting more. The stage became a canvas for creativity as students poured their hearts into their performances. \nAdding an interactive element to the night\, the Open Mic session provided a platform for students to share their own melodious performances. This segment not only showcased the hidden talents within our student body but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration as students supported and celebrated each other’s musical abilities. \nBeyond the stunning performances\, the Musical Night served as a catalyst for promoting cultural diversity and artistic expression within the university community. DESCRIPTION:SRM University-AP hosts myriads of events offering a multitude of avenues for the students to express\, ideate\, learn and grow. The Colour Painting Contest\, hosted by the Creative Arts Club on February 15\, 2023\, is one such initiative that transformed the campus into a vibrant canvas. The event aimed to channel students’ artistic talents through visual expression while fostering a spirit of friendly competition among the houses. \nStudents\, representing their houses with Ursa (Green)\, Pegasus (Blue)\, Phoenix (Yellow)\, and Orion (Red)\, unleashed their imaginations onto the canvas\, creating mesmerising artworks. The contest aimed at conveying powerful messages through brushstrokes\, colour and form. \nShivangi Narayan\, representing Pegasus\, won the first place with her captivating artwork\, earning 10 points for her house. Swapna B\, from Phoenix\, secured the second position\, adding 5 points to her house’s tally. Their creations dazzled the eyes and ignited a sense of wonder and admiration among everyone. The competition celebrated the boundless creativity that thrives within our campus walls.

Participants gathered with a shared goal of acquiring valuable skills and techniques to excel in the art of public speaking. Dr Wadhwa’s insights were nothing short of inspiring. From the importance of thorough preparation to the subtle nuances of body language\, attendees were equipped with practical tools and techniques to deliver impactful speeches.\n The seminar addressed the common challenges faced by students\, offering solutions and strategies for overcoming stage fright and nervousness. The session was not only informative but also interactive\, encouraging students to actively participate in engaging activities and exercises; attendees had the opportunity to enhance their communication abilities in a supportive and encouraging environment.\nThe importance of effective communication cannot be overstated\, and SRM University-AP’s initiative to organise such seminars reflects its commitment to the holistic development of its students.
