DESCRIPTION:Department of Student Affairs\, SRM University-AP\, Andhra Pradesh organizes yet another chapter of Newsmakers. On November 21\, 2020\, at 5 PM\, Sourav Sanyal\, Miran Junaidi\, and Saurabh Ghanekar\, 4th year\, Department of Computer Science and Engineering will be narrating their tale of forming a start-up named oureye.ai. The young entrepreneurs developed an automated\, end-to-end video intelligence solution for enterprises to monitor surveillance camera recordings\, leveraging pre-existing CCTV-IP infrastructure. \nThe three brilliant students grabbed the opportunities provided by SRM AP and became an active member of the student-run technological club of SRM AP\, Next Tech Lab. Further\, they spent a semester at the University of California\, Berkeley as part of the Semester Abroad Programme to broaden their horizon of knowledge. Encouraged by the mentors and faculty\, the students participated in several international conferences and hackathons which kindled their interest in developing a platform that would provide practical solutions to real-life problems. \nDuring the session\, the students will share insights regarding their start-up. Also\, they will narrate the inspiring journey that commenced with their erudite experience at SRM AP\, which eventually enabled them to become young entrepreneurs. Their company generated a revenue of Rs. 1.7 million in the recent financial year.

Celebrated IPL and Ranji Trophy player\, Mr Kalyana Krishna Doddapaneni\, will deliver a special talk to inspire and motivate students on August 29\, 2021\, at 05.00 pm. \nMr Doddapaneni played in the Indian Premier League during the years of 2008-09 for the Deccan Chargers team. Prior to that\, he played in the Andhra Ranji Cricket Team for 10 years and bagged 200+ first-class wickets. He has also played in vital tournaments such a Duleep and Deodhar Trophies. Mr Doddapaneni is currently working as a leading commentator for Start Sports. He is also the chairman of the Cricket Advisory Committee\, Andhra Cricket Association. He has further established KK Global Cricket Academy in Andhra Pradesh with state-of-the-art facilities to promote cricket. \nSports are a crucial part of a student’s holistic growth and development. Games and sports provide great help in the development of mental health and physical fitness of the body. Ms Ragini Mathur\, one of the dedicated trainers of Heartfulness Institute\, will enlighten the students on “Refresh (Organizing the Mind)”. \nMs Ragini Mathur started her career as a Government teacher. She later got selected in Central Railways in RE Project. She secured promotion and became Divisional Railway Manager for the Bhopal Region. After taking voluntary retirement from Railway Services\, she worked as an Administrative Office Superintendent. She joined Heartfulness Institute more the two and half decades ago and became a trainer in 2011. The versatile Ms Mathur has also worked as a radio jockey and a casual announcer for Yuvvani Programme in Akashvani. The talk explored the understanding of Happiness and decoded the multiple ways of achieving and retaining it. Dr Nappinnai Seran\, Professor\, Department of Psychiatry at Meenakshi Medical College delivered the talk. Dr Seran is also a renowned psychologist and Marital  Therapist. \nThe session tackled the idea that people need to strive for a happier and more fulfilling life. It busted the misconception that momentary happiness is insignificant. Dr Seran\, a leading expert on the subject\, shared invaluable insights on how to achieve true happiness and maintain it. Attendees were given a unique opportunity to learn about the complexities of the Happiness Trap and how to avoid it.  \nDr  Nappinnai Seran’s expertise allowed the students an opportunity to imbibe and navigate the challenges related to happiness and well-being. The interactive nature of the session encourages active participation and the exchange of ideas. Dr Nappinnai Seran’s ability to seamlessly blend professional expertise with relatable anecdotes resonated strongly with the audience. The interactive nature of the session\, especially the Q&A segment\, facilitated a direct connection between Dr Seran and the students\, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding.

The National Sports Day celebration witnessed the participation of almost 100 students and faculty from across the university.
