This strenuous physical activity requires tremendous willpower and determination coupled with unwavering motivation. The Department of Student Affairs hosts The Newsmaker session with Ms Tanoogna on January 22\, 2022\, from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm. \nMs Tanoogna has been training to participate in indoor and outdoor archery championships for a year. She won gold medals in the Senior Recurve women individual\, women team and mixed team categories and is ranked 8th in the national archery rankings. \nAll are encouraged to join the session and get inspired by the champion!

It is a common confusion among people who are not related to the field of psychiatry or psychology. There are differences between the two professions when it comes to their education\, training\, and scope of practice. In today’s era\, when people are more than often suffering from emotional or mental problems and hesitate to visit a professional\, it is important to know the difference. We often forget that keeping our minds healthy is equally important as keeping our bodies healthy. Youngsters often go through many emotional and psychological problems without being able to share those with anyone. The session Counselling Vs Psychiatry will help you understand the role of a Counsellor in your well-being. \nMs Liza Hazarika was associated as a psychologist with Forward Seamen’s Union of India and with Pratishruti Cancer and Palliative Trust as a volunteer and psychologist. Ms Hazarika is a certified Spiritual therapist from Amrit Asmi Institute. She believes in a holistic approach to treatment. She is the founder of Call For Healing\, a space for spiritual practices. Ms Hazarika is also actively involved in several Non-Governmental Organisations working in areas of mental health. SUMMARY:Team Sunshine celebrate Children’s day in magnificence
DESCRIPTION:Children’s Day celebrations were held at Nirukonda and Nauluru government schools from Friday to Monday under the auspices of the Student Affairs department at SRM University-AP. The programme named SRM Sunshine\, organised various games and competitions for students from classes one to ten and distributed prizes to winners. The essay writing\, drawing\, running\, skipping and musical chair competitions focused on children and their enjoyment contributing to their cognitive development. \nStudents of SRM University-AP mingled with the children involving them in various games. The tiny tots of Preschool and Pre-primary celebrated the day with much joy and enthusiasm. The celebrations began on Friday\, followed by a variety of fun-filled activities and games planned by the Sunshine team. Children were given chocolates and gifts like crayons\, pencils etc. as a token of appreciation. The event was attended by Ms Revathi Balakrishnan\, Assistant Director – Student Affairs; Dr Abdul Mohimin\, Assistant Director – Physical Education and Mr Narendra Babu\, Manager – Student Affairs. \nEvery year on November 14 India celebrates Children’s Day\, the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru\, India’s first Prime Minister. The day is also known as Bal Diwas. He adored children and once said that children are the country’s future and that they should be loved. Children also adored him and referred to him as ‘Chacha Nehru.’

She has pursued MTech in Environmental Engineering earning a Gold medal from Marwadi University\, Rajkot\, Gujarat. She has worked on various plastic waste projects that are published as 2 articles and 4 book chapters on various international platforms. She has also been awarded for her work on making bioplastics from Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre. Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain established Ather Energy Pvt. Ltd.\, an Indian electric car startup\, in 2013. The last session of their 3-day induction programme will be delivered by Mr Rupesh Sharma on August 28\, 2021\, at 2.30 pm. Mr Sharma will be discussing “Recharge-Art of Positive Thinking”. \nMr Rupesh Sharma is associated with Heartfulness Institute since August 2014. He became a trainer in January 2018. He has done B. Pharma from Medical College\, Amritsar and is currently the Vice President for United Biotech\, Delhi. Mr Sharma has 25 years of experience in Pharmaceuticals Sales and Marketing. DESCRIPTION:Freshmen Orientation Programme-2021 welcomes Professor Upadrasta Ramamurty\, School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering\, Nanyang Technological University\, Singapore\, to deliver a talk on September 06\, 2021\, at 12 noon. \nProfessor Upadrasta Ramamurty received a Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgy) degree from Andhra University in 1989 and a Master of Engineering (Metallurgy) degree from Indian Institute of Science in 1991\, both with a Metallurgy specialisation\, as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Engineering from Brown University in 1994. His postdoctoral research was carried out at the University of California-Santa Barbara and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. \nProfessor Ramamurty is a widely respected researcher who has co-authored over 250 papers in peer-reviewed international journals that have been referenced over 9000 times (with a Hirsch index of 46) in both the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Several honours\, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences’\, the Lee Hsun Lecture Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences\, TWAS Prize (Engineering Sciences)\, CNR Rao Prize Lecture in Advanced Materials of Materials Research Society of India\, J.C. Bose National Fellowship and Swarnajayanthi Fellowships of Government of India\, Metallurgist of the Year Award by Indian Institute of Metals\, and Scopus Young Scientist Award\, have acknowledged his research efforts. \nProfessor Ramamurty is an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy\, the Indian National Academy of Engineering\, the Indian Academy of Sciences\, and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He held numerous distinguished/invited professor/scientist positions around the world\, including the Institute of Materials Research (IMRE) in Singapore\, Zhejiang University in China (Qiushi Distinguished Visiting Professor)\, Université de Lorraine in France (Exceptional Class Professeur invité)\, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in India\, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. \nSince 2014\, Professor Ramamurty has served as an Editor for Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia. Professor Ramamurty’s research focuses on addressing fundamental scientific and technological difficulties in the materials/mechanics domains\, which have direct implications for advanced manufacturing as well as component structural integrity and reliability. \nProfessor Ramamurty made significant contributions to the understanding of the mechanical behaviour of advanced metallic alloys\, composites\, and molecular crystals during the course of a nearly three-decade professional career. The talk has been scheduled for September 04\, 2021\, at 10.45 am  and aims to provide an insight of the industry and its culture. \nMr Karl-Alexander Seidel started his career at Daimler in 2001. Between then and 2014\, he held a variety of management functions in the fields of Reporting\, Business Development\, Product Planning and Homologation\, mainly in Daimler’s commercial vehicles division\, as well as at TASIAP GmbH in Stuttgart. Since 2014 he has been working for Daimler in India\, where he was initially responsible for powertrain supplier management. Between 2016 and 2017 he was in charge of the “Logistics\, Supplier & Quality Management” department at Daimler Buses in India before assuming his current function in 2017. \nMr Karl-Alexander Seidel is a highly competent commercial vehicles manager with many years of India-related experience from our bus business in Chennai.
