The varsity’s 17th UDL will host Dr Girish Sahni\, former Director General of CSIR and Former Secretary – Government of India\, as its guest speaker. Dr Sahni will address the audience on the topic “Scientific Progress to Grand Progression: Opportunities and Challenges in Science-to-technology-to-market Paradigms”. \nDr Sahni is an exceptional scientist with a specialisation in Protein Engineering\, Molecular Biology\, and Biotechnology. His contributions in the field of protein cardiovascular drugs\, particularly in the area of ‘clot busters’ and their mode of action in the human body\, are truly inspiring. Dr Sahni has authored several papers in high-impact scientific journals and has several national and international patents to his credit. \nAbstract \nAs India prepares to be one of the top-ranking economies in the world\, we need to ponder the pathways that require strengthening for the future\, in science education\, innovation and investment strategies leading to useful products and services at a world-class level. SUMMARY:Science and Technology exhibition of ISRO and DAE at SRM University- AP
DESCRIPTION:A Science and Technology exhibition that aims to acquaint students with the latest technologies and programmes of ISRO and DAE is planned to be conducted as part of the 88th Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Sciences hosted by SRM University- AP. Students will get an opportunity to interact with renowned scientists and would be exposed to demonstration models from these reputed institutions. \nIGCAR will be participating in the exhibtion with working models of the Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) 700 MW\, Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR)\, Kalpakkam Mini Reactor (KAMINI)\, Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) Fuel Pin\, Bhabhatron\, GC 5000\, and Safety Grade Decay Heat Removal (SGDHR) System. \nDecade-wise progress of the Department of Atomic Energy and various Activities of DAE will be displayed as Charts. Display panels showcasing the three-stage programme of India’s Nuclear Energy and societal applications of radiation will be put up for display.
