SUMMARY:Seminar Series - Resilient Fleet-Aware Genetic Evolution For Uav-Based Healthcare Transportation Under Dynamic Disruptions
DESCRIPTION:The Paari School of Business at SRM University-AP is organising a Research Seminar titled “Resilient Fleet-Aware Genetic Evolution For Uav-Based Healthcare Transportation Under Dynamic Disruptions”. The session will feature Dr Tejinder Singh Lakhwani\, Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at TAPMI School of Business\, Manipal University Jaipur\, as the expert speaker. \nDr Lakhwani holds a PhD in Decision Sciences and Operations from IIT Jodhpur\, where he received the C. V. Raman Gold Medal for Best PhD Thesis (2026). His research focuses on AI-enabled healthcare logistics\, drone delivery systems\, and IoT-enabled supply chains\, with publications across leading peer-reviewed journals and editorial service for BMC Health Services Research. \nThe session is expected to benefit students\, researchers\, and faculty members interested in healthcare logistics\, drone-assisted delivery systems\, metaheuristic optimization\, and resilient supply chain management. \nAbstract \nEfficient\, resilient\, and safety-aware healthcare transportation systems are critical for the timely delivery of life-saving medical supplies during emergencies\, natural hazards\, and disruption-prone operating conditions such as floods\, storms\, and infrastructure failures. However\, existing UAV-enabled healthcare logistics frameworks often lack integrated real-time re-optimization\, low-latency operational responsiveness\, and healthcare-aware decision support under dynamic transportation disruptions. This paper proposes Fleet-Aware Genetic Evolution (FAGE)\, a real-time adaptive routing and decision-support framework that combines Genetic Algorithm (GA) based optimization with feedback-driven parameter adaptation and Pareto-based multi-objective optimization for UAV-enabled medical transportation. The proposed framework integrates Internet of Things (IoT) sensing with Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) to enable low-latency monitoring\, event-triggered route adaptation\, and disruption-resilient operational decision-making in intelligent healthcare transportation environments. To support reliable and sustainable emergency logistics operations\, FAGE incorporates healthcare-aware operational indicators related to delivery urgency\, battery degradation\, environmental impact\, and cold-chain reliability. The framework is evaluated using benchmark routing datasets and dynamic hospital-delivery simulations involving up to 100 healthcare locations under varying disruption intensities\, emergency demand surges\, and environmental uncertainties. Comparative results against Adaptive ACO\, Hybrid VNS\, FSTSP-D\, and mixed-integer programming (MIP) approaches demonstrate that FAGE achieves lower delivery time and energy consumption while improving emergency delivery success and cold-chain compliance. In several scenarios\, delivery time and energy consumption improved by up to 18% and 20%\, respectively. Additional sensitivity analysis further demonstrates the robustness\, scalability\, and operational adaptability of the proposed framework under dynamic and extreme-event-driven transportation conditions. The results highlight the potential of FAGE for intelligent\, disruption-resilient\, and safety-aware healthcare transportation and emergency logistics operations. \nKey Details \n\nDate: November 18\, 2026 (Wednesday)\nTime: 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM\nVenue: Level 5\, Tiered Classroom\, Homi J Bhabha Block\nTopic: Resilient Fleet-Aware Genetic Evolution For Uav-Based Healthcare Transportation Under Dynamic Disruptions\nSpeaker: Dr Tejinder Singh Lakhwani (Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management\, TAPMI School of Business\, Manipal University Jaipur)

SUMMARY:Identifying Hand-to-Mouth Households in India
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Economics\, SRM University–AP\, invites faculty members\, researchers\, scholars\, and students to the November edition of the SRMAP Economics Virtual Seminar Series. \nThe session will feature Dr Aditi Singh\, Assistant Professor\, Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL). The seminar will explore the identification of hand-to-mouth households in India\, with a focus on understanding household financial circumstances\, consumption behaviour\, and access to liquid financial resources. \nThe discussion will offer valuable insights into household financial vulnerability and the economic factors that influence financial decision-making and consumption patterns. \nSpeaker: Dr Aditi Singh\, Assistant Professor\, Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL)\nTitle: Identifying Hand-to-Mouth Households in India\nDate: November 18\, 2026\nTime: 3:45 PM – 5:00 PM\nMode: Online via Zoom \nAbstract: Like most emerging economies\, India has no dataset that jointly observes household income\, consumption\, and wealth. We harmonize two datasets to create the first ever full balance sheet of Indian households. We then classify households into whether they are financially constrained or not\, and find that roughly half of Indian households are wealthy hand-to-mouth\, holding substantial wealth in land and gold but too little liquidity to cover even half a month of income. This classification hinges crucially on whether gold counts as liquid or illquid. The usability of this wealth\, not only its amount\, shapes monetary transmission. Four months after a contractionary surprise\, poor hand-to-mouth households cut consumption 0.17 log points more than wealthy ones; by month seven\, wealthy households without potential gold collateral cut consumption 0.79 log points more than those with it\, a collateral margin with no counterpart in the mortgage channels of advanced economies. Counting only the poor hand-to-mouth as constrained would therefore miss most of the households that respond as if constrained: those whose wealth sits in land and in gold too small to pledge. \nThe seminar will provide a platform for participants to engage with contemporary research in household finance and deepen their understanding of financial behaviour in the Indian context.

SUMMARY:5 Day FDP on Industry-Academia Perspectives on Blockchain
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University-AP is organising a five-day Faculty Development Programme titled “Industry-Academia Perspectives on Blockchain: From Fundamentals and Enterprise Applications to Intelligent Systems and Emerging Trends”. Scheduled to run from December 7-11\, 2026\, the programme will operate in a hybrid format\, combining in-person sessions on campus with virtual attendance for remote participants. \nDistributed ledger technology has expanded far beyond its early association with cryptocurrency\, establishing a foundation for verifiable\, decentralized digital operations. Modern applications now span enterprise management\, financial platforms\, supply chain operations\, healthcare records\, agricultural tracking\, intelligent transport networks\, cybersecurity protocols\, and digital identity systems. As distributed architectures increasingly intersect with artificial intelligence\, internet of things networks\, and cyber-physical systems\, academic institutions face a growing need to update research methodologies and classroom teaching to match these technological developments. \nThis training initiative focuses on connecting academic theory with practical industrial requirements. Across five days of technical sessions\, subject matter experts will explain core architectural components\, cryptographic foundations\, and the working mechanics of decentralized networks. Participants will examine enterprise implementations such as Hyperledger Fabric\, explore smart contract development\, and analyse the evolution of consensus algorithms along with their computational trade-offs. Additional sessions will address performance optimisation strategies for intelligent systems and evaluate specialized use cases in agricultural supply chains and domain-specific tracking systems. \nLectures and interactive sessions will be delivered by researchers and specialists drawn from Indian Institutes of Technology\, National Institutes of Technology\, and technical software companies. The programme aims to help participants identify current research challenges\, refine laboratory coursework\, and design new project-based learning modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students. By encouraging cross-institutional networks\, the university seeks to support joint research publications\, patent applications\, interdisciplinary consultancy projects\, and grant proposals submitted to funding agencies. \n  \nKey Objectives \n\nExamine core principles\, architectural components\, and the evolution of consensus mechanisms in decentralized networks.\nAnalyse enterprise blockchain implementations\, focusing on Hyperledger Fabric and real-world case studies.\nAddress security protocols\, smart contract execution\, and optimization strategies for blockchain-enabled intelligent systems.\nReview sector-specific applications in agriculture\, supply chain traceability\, and intelligent transportation.\nSupport academic research output\, interdisciplinary project proposals\, patent filings\, and industry-academia networking.
