Department of Health Engineering within the School of Engineering and Sciences (SEAS), SRM University-AP is organising a Healthcare Industry–Academia Synergy Summit. Held in collaboration with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) India, the summit centres on the theme, “Collaborating for the Future of Health Engineering.” This premier event – aiming to Bridge Healthcare Innovation, Education, and Industry – establishes a strategic platform connecting healthcare practitioners, clinicians, industrial leaders, medical device innovators, and academicians to advance healthcare technology and translational research.
A primary objective of the summit is fostering robust institutional partnerships. Participants will explore collaborative avenues for joint research and development, technology transfer, and co-sponsored innovation initiatives. By bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and commercial application, the event aims to catalyse joint grant applications and high-impact medical solutions.
Curriculum consultation forms another core pillar of this summit. Industry stakeholders and medical experts will provide critical insights into emerging market trends and workforce requirements. These expert perspectives will directly inform enhancements to the B.Tech Health Engineering program, ensuring the curriculum aligns with regulatory standards, technological breakthroughs, and professional expectations. Discussions will target essential competencies and interdisciplinary learning outcomes to prepare graduates for the modern healthcare sector.
Furthermore, the summit prioritises student development and professional readiness. Panellists will discuss expanding high-quality internships, industrial training, and corporate-sponsored capstone projects. By facilitating direct mentorship, guest lectures, and executive networking, the event seeks to enhance the employability and entrepreneurial pathways of engineering graduates. Key technical areas of focus include Digital Health, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Devices, and Regenerative Medicine.
The summit invites healthcare industry leaders, hospital administrators, medical device manufacturers, and innovation ecosystem representatives to participate. Expected outcomes include formalized strategic partnerships, industry-informed curriculum frameworks, and a sustainable roadmap for long-term technological and educational advancement.
